Grounds Maintenance Operative

Location: Exmouth

Working Hours: Monday to Wednesday 7:30am to 4:30pm; Thursday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driving licence (no more than 6 points)
  • Physically fit, as the role is very physical
  • Some grounds maintenance experience
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Main Responsibilities:
  • Grounds maintenance and vegetation management, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance, pruning, and weed spraying, often using powered pedestrian and handheld equipment
  • Removing litter, emptying bins, removing graffiti, trimming or removing overgrown weeds and shrubs as needed
  • Responding to and resolving daily issues, and reporting more serious issues to the Public and Green Space Team Leader
  • Reporting issues affecting the public realm such as damaged furniture, fly-tipping, stray dogs, dog fouling, abandoned vehicles, littering, illegal land use, and improperly placed bins
  • Engaging with the public and businesses to provide information and address queries or complaints
