Job description

Grounds Maintenance Operative – Exeter

Our client requires Grounds Maintenance Operatives to carry out tasks such as strimming, hard and soft landscaping. Working in teams, you will be responsible for a range of activities from grass cutting, strimming, hedge pruning, flower bed maintenance, and much more.

What we are looking for:
  • Experience within the grounds maintenance industry (preferred)
  • Capable of working safely using a range of equipment and hand tools (e.g. strimmers, backpack blowers, push mowers etc.)
  • Must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all-weather conditions
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work in a demanding environment
  • Enthusiasm and good communication skills
  • Good understanding of health and safety
  • Ideally have a full, clean driving license
  • Understanding of the importance of working as a team
  • Reliable and conscientious with a can-do attitude
  • A willingness to learn
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative
  • CSCS card (preferred)
Hours of work:

Monday – Friday but there will be some weekend overtime available, paid at premium rates.

Rate of Pay:
  • £12.25 per hour
  • These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from accrued holiday pay from day one
  • Pension contributions (after a qualifying period)
  • Weekly pay
  • No umbrella payments or fees
  • Only tax and National Insurance deductions, which will be shown on your payslip
