Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Manager to lead landscaping maintenance and aftercare across the South East, combining practical delivery with client reporting. You will plan programmes, coordinate labour, monitor quality and ensure safe, professional delivery while developing the wider soft landscaping division.

Travelling to sites across Essex/South East, you will build strong client relationships and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance or soft landscaping.
• Good plant knowledge and understanding of maintenance standards.
• Experience managing teams or subcontractors.
• Strong planning and organisation skills.
• Good communication with clients and site teams.
• Good commercial awareness.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office / Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage annual landscaping maintenance and aftercare programmes.
• Prepare site-by-site schedules for routine visits and seasonal tasks.
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, vehicles and tools for efficient delivery.
• Brief site teams on specifications and safety requirements.
• Visit sites to inspect workmanship and progress.
• Manage plant health, watering and aftercare.
• Identify additional works and variations with the client.
• Support quotations and small works during quieter periods.
