Job summary

The Cathedral College in Rockhampton is seeking a full-time Facilities Officer (Grounds/Maintenance) to commence immediately, covering the school’s grounds and facilities with a focus on upkeep and safety.

You will mow, irrigate, maintain gardens, manage grounds equipment, and assist with minor building tasks, including bus driving duties. Competitive salary and benefits apply, including 12.75% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Blue Card under the Working with Children Act and a valid Suitability Notice.
• Must hold (or be eligible for) a MR class driver's licence.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, trimming and fertilising lawns and turf areas.
• Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems.
• Weeding, planting and fertilising gardens.
• Maintaining grounds equipment.
• Checking and adjusting security lighting.
• Assist with minor building maintenance as directed.
• Carry out minor repairs to school property and equipment.
• Assist with marking sporting fields and grounds.
• Setup and dismantling of tents and equipment for school functions.
• Complete and document workplace health and safety tasks as required.
