Mears Group in Cambridge is seeking a reliable Groundworker to support a social housing contract. You will perform a range of external works, including paving, drainage, and landscaping, while working around occupied homes with professionalism and safety in mind.
The role requires experience in groundworks, fencing, and drainage, plus a Full UK Driving Licence. A company van and fuel card are provided, with a 42.5-hour week and a permanent full-time agreement.

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Groundworker to join our expanding team, supporting a busy social housing contract in Cambridge. This is a hands‑on role focused on delivering a wide range of external works, repairs, and improvements across residential properties, helping maintain safe, functional, and well‑presented outdoor environments for tenants.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out a variety of groundworks including paving, fencing, drainage, concreting, landscaping, and the construction and repair of steps and pathways. Working in and around occupied homes, you’ll need to be professional, respectful, and committed to delivering high‑quality workmanship that meets both safety and service standards.
With a strong pipeline of planned and reactive work and a focus on improving housing conditions, this is a great opportunity to be part of a team making a real impact in the community. We’re looking for someone dependable, skilled across multiple aspects of groundworks and external maintenance, and confident working independently or as part of a team.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
