Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks an experienced Ground & Water EIA Lead to coordinate inputs from Ground & Water specialists into major infrastructure, energy, water, property and regeneration projects across the UK. You will interface between the EIA community and Ground & Water teams to ensure technical excellence and efficient project delivery.

You will work with EIA Project Managers and Market Leaders to plan resources, identify opportunities and integrate Ground & Water services into projects,

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
• Chartered status (or working towards chartership) with a relevant professional institution.
• Strong understanding of the UK EIA process and environmental planning framework.
• Significant experience in Ground & Water disciplines (e.g., contaminated land, hydrogeology, groundwater, etc.).
• Experience on multidisciplinary infrastructure or development projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate technical teams across multiple offices and disciplines.
• Strong commercial awareness and project delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between Ground & Water and EIA teams across the UK.
• Coordinate Ground & Water support for EIA projects from bid stage to project completion.
• Work with EIA Project Managers on resource requirements and qualified specialists.
• Develop scopes of work, fee proposals and project programmes.
• Provide technical oversight and QA of Ground & Water inputs to Environmental Statements.
• Promote consistency in assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies.
• Forecast future EIA opportunities and assist in resource planning.
• Collaborate with regional leaders to balance workloads across Ground & Water.
• Support strategic bids and major pursuits requiring environmental input.
• Foster knowledge sharing and best practices between Ground & Water and EIA communities.
• Mentor and develop technical capability within the team.
• Identify opportunities to grow Ground & Water involvement in major environmental programmes.
