Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Ground Trials Engineer to join the Integration and System Validation team on a permanent basis in the United Kingdom. You will contribute to safety proving plans and run complex ground test activities across multiple engineering disciplines.

The role requires experience in trials or testing within technical or defence environments, knowledge of EMC, mechanical and climatic testing, and the ability to work autonomously within a specialist team.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, trials or testing in a technical/defence environment.
• Knowledge of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental testing or EMC.
• Practical experience using test equipment, processes and procedures.
• Understanding of Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives trials and testing, including mechanical, climatic, EMC, insensitive munitions or chemical analysis activities.
• Knowledge of military safety regulations, policies and standards, particularly those relating to Safety and Suitability for Service.
• Understanding of safety assessment processes and risk management approaches.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a wider specialist team.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and technical reporting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying improvements.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development and implementation of long-term system safety plans and ground trials.
• Carrying out technical, engineering and scientific activities, including the analysis and interpretation of technical information.
• Contributing to Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives trials and testing activities.
• Supporting testing across areas such as EMC, mechanical and climatic performance, engine testing and chemical analysis.
• Applying engineering knowledge to identify solutions, improve processes and support innovative test approaches.
• Working collaboratively with internal teams, specialist engineers and UK, French and Italian national authorities.
• Communicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Taking responsibility for the quality, value and timely delivery of work undertaken.
