Job Summary:

The Night General Clerk plays a vital role in stocking, facing, and rotating merchandise overnight in the grocery department, ensuring an attractive store image and price integrity for customers.

Essential Functions:

1. Assist in receiving, sorting, and organizing stock inventory for store shelves.
2. Stock shelves and products in a clean, organized, and presentable manner per company standards.
3. Help unload trucks as directed by management.
4. Monitor shelf price and product integrity, restocking as needed for accuracy and quality.
5. Follow company procedures for case cutting to prevent damage and loss.
6. Transport stock to storage and workload areas.
7. Replenish products across departments as instructed.
8. Move products between storage and display areas, including refrigeration storage.
9. Handle damaged or spoiled products according to company policy.
10. Check expiration dates to ensure freshness for customers.
11. Maintain a clean, attractive, and friendly department environment.
12. Report refrigeration or equipment issues immediately.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding of inventory systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of grocery products and categories.
• Awareness of OSHA and safety regulations.
• Accurate inventory checking and record-keeping.
• Proficiency with inventory software and warehouse technology.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to organize storage and manage inventory efficiently.
• Problem-solving skills for inventory discrepancies.
• Adaptability and ability to work under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Perform repetitive motions and climb ladders.
• Operate warehouse equipment.
• Maintain clear communication and work efficiently.

Work Conditions:

• Varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Indoor, climate-controlled environment.
• Work within various store areas.
• Dress code: professional attire, including company-issued or approved clothing.
• Potential exposure to chemicals and moving parts.
• Low to moderate noise levels.
• Constant interaction with customers and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Over one year of Grocery Clerk experience preferred.
• Complete OSHA forklift training.
