Job summary

John Lewis Partnership’s Waitrose in Lymington is seeking a Supermarket Assistant to deliver friendly, partner-led service while keeping shelves stocked and orders moving.

You’ll work varied late shifts (16:00–00:00) with a £13.00 base rate, £13.25 after 90 days, plus a Night Premium of £3.75 per hour for hours between 22:00 and 06:00. The role is temporary and offers flexible hours and a chance to join the UK’s largest employee-owned retailer.

Qualifications

• Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers.
• Experience in customer facing role welcomed.
• Interest in food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the whole branch.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment to keep shelves full and in the right place for customers.
• Fulfilling online orders for driver delivery to customers’ doors.
• Reducing wastage by following product due diligence and sell-by date rules.
• Collaborating with the wider shop team including checkout support and Click & Collect.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working environment.
