Job summary

Sainsbury's Limited in Washington, England, is hiring a Customer Delivery Driver on a part-time, 25-hour weekly basis. The role offers a permanent contract with a typical rate of £14.73 per hour and requires a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with up to 6 points.

You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries, perform vehicle checks, follow planned routes and keep customers informed of delays. Shifts include weekend slots.

Responsibilities

• Being the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued through a thoughtful, friendly and helpful delivery service
• Driving a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries to customers on time and in great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organised, and that customers’ shopping is secure before setting off
• Following planned routes and driving safely in a variety of locations, traffic, weather and road conditions
• Moving containers weighing up to 15kg and delivering shopping to a variety of properties, including steps, lifts or longer walks from the van
• Communicating with customers, including keeping them informed of delays and handling changes to orders
• When not delivering, assisting across the store as needed
