Day shifts: Mon - Thurs, Friday

My client is looking for a skilled operative who is experienced in metal finishing. The role involves the preparation and finishing of aluminium handrails, typically 0.5 to 1 metre in length, using a variety of metalworking techniques. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail, involving extensive sanding, drilling, grinding, countersinking, and work with composite filler. The parts worked on include cast and extruded aluminium components.

Key Responsibilities of the Grinder/Sander/Metal Finisher:

1. Perform extensive sanding and surface preparation on aluminium handrails
2. Use tools such as drills and countersinks to achieve precise finishes
3. Apply and shape composite filler to smooth and prepare surfaces
4. Work on cast and extruded aluminium components
5. Maintain a high standard of quality control and finish
6. Follow all health & safety and operational procedures
7. Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth production flow

Requirements of the Metal Finisher/Sander/Grinder:

1. Proven experience in metal finishing, especially with aluminium
2. Comfortable with manual sanding and power-assisted surface prep
3. Skilled in drilling, countersinking, and general metalwork
4. Experience with composite filler application and shaping
5. Strong attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship
6. Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
