This role involves collaboration with internal departments, technical specialists, contractors, and network operators. You’ll manage all aspects of electrical connection delivery, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on grid connection planning and execution for renewable generation assets, primarily solar PV.
  • Oversee the performance of Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), network operators, engineering consultants, and other service providers.
  • Work closely with design and delivery teams to ensure grid compliance and coordination across project interfaces.
  • Maintain project documentation such as risk logs, programme trackers, and technical registers.
  • Serve as the in-house advisor on grid-related matters, offering insight on strategy, standards, and contractor engagement.
  • Participate in engineering reviews and commissioning checks to ensure compliance with national grid codes and electrical standards.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with grid operators, utility partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support troubleshooting and technical resolution for grid-related challenges.
  • Conduct site inspections pre- and during construction to ensure delivery progress and manage interfaces.

Your Background:

  • Degree in electrical engineering or similar, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience with grid connections in the 33kV-132kV range, ideally in utility-scale Solar or Onshore wind
  • Knowledge of UK grid infrastructure, policies, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with engineering design stages and construction delivery processes.
  • Solid grasp of UK safety standards and regulatory requirements for construction and energy systems.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and spoken English.
  • Self-starter comfortable with hybrid/remote work and frequent UK travel, plus occasional travel to Northern Europe.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrates structured problem-solving, time management, and ownership of results.

In Return

  • A high-impact role within a fast-growing energy company that values initiative and innovation.
  • Clear pathways for professional growth and the chance to take on increasing responsibility.
  • A collaborative and supportive culture built on shared goals and a commitment to sustainability.
