Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking a Greenkeeper at Piperdam Leisure Resort near Dundee to maintain the 9- and 18-hole courses and ensure an exceptional playing experience for guests and members. The role requires passion for greenkeeping and precise turf care.

You will perform daily maintenance, turf management, irrigation care, and pest control while collaborating with the team to uphold high standards and safety across the park.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Daily Course Maintenance: mowing greens, fairways, tees; rake bunkers; set tee markers and hole positions.
• Turf Management: aeration, scarification, top-dressing, fertilisation, overseeding.
• Irrigation Management: monitor and maintain irrigation systems.

Location: Piperdam Leisure Resort, Dundee, DD2 5LP, Nr Birkhill

Job Type: Variable seasonal contract

Remuneration: £12.71 per hour - paid weekly!

Our guests and members at Piperdam love a round of golf, and we need an greenkeeper to ensure our 9 and 18-hole courses are always in top-notch condition. What you'll be doing

As part of the team, you'll be working to ensure that our golf courses are maintained to the highest standards, creating an exceptional playing experience for all our guests and members. Key responsibilities include:

• Daily Course Maintenance: Preparing the course each day, including mowing greens, fairways, and tees; raking bunkers; and setting up tee markers and hole positions to ensure the course is ready for play.


• Turf Management: Carrying out aeration, scarification, top-dressing, fertilisation, and overseeding to promote healthy turf growth.


• Irrigation Management: Monitoring and maintaining the irrigation systems to ensure optimal moisture levels across the course.


• Pest and Disease Control: Identifying and treating turf diseases and pests to keep the course in pristine condition.


• Health and Safety: Conducting regular inspections of the lakes, bunkers, and life-preserving equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.


• Landscaping and Presentation: Caring for bushes, trees, and ornamental areas, maintaining flowerbeds, and keeping all front-of-house areas litter-free to create a great first impression.


• Equipment Maintenance: Keeping machinery, tools, and ride-on equipment cleaned, checked, and well maintained to ensure they function effectively.


• Record Keeping: Logging maintenance activities, chemical applications, and equipment servicing for reference and compliance.


• Team Collaboration: Working closely with the greenkeeping team and other departments to maintain exceptional standards and improve member and guest experiences.


• Membership Engagement: Supporting the team in enhancing memberships and fostering a welcoming golfing community.

Skills, experience and qualities you'll need

If you can match the skills, experience and qualities listed below, we would love to hear from you:

• Greenkeeping expertise, including experience with course setup, turf care, and presentation standards.


• Proficiency with ride-on machinery, such as mowers, aerators, and tractors.


• A keen eye for detail and pride in presenting the course at its best.


• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, solving problems as they arise.


• Good communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate with colleagues and other departments.

You will need a full driving licence too and it would be the icing on the cake if are good at general maintenance repairs.
