Job summary

Rullion is seeking a Solutions Architect for a 3-month contract to lead early-stage architectural direction on a new greenfield digital solution in the energy sector. The role emphasizes architecture, assessment and technical leadership over hands-on delivery.

Key focus areas include Databricks migrations, API architecture, data platforms and modern cloud-native approaches, with remote-friendly options and a mix of on-site days. Prior energy sector experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Strong Solutions Architecture experience in greenfield environments.
• Databricks experience - essential.
• API architecture and design expertise.
• Azure experience, with Databricks migrations or implementations.
• Snowflake knowledge and data platform migration considerations.
• Understanding modern cloud-native architectures.
• Ability to assess technology options and provide clear architectural recommendations.
• Experience with AI/ML, Digital Twins or other emerging technologies.
• Energy sector experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Shaping the architecture for a new, greenfield digital solution.
• Assessing and recommending appropriate technology and architectural approaches.
• Providing the technical pathway from PoC through to potential production.
• Evaluating migration implications from Snowflake/Azure towards Databricks.
• Understanding migration dependencies, risks and impact on delivery.
• Designing and assessing API architecture as a core focus.
• Supporting PoCs and prototypes while guiding architectural direction and roadmap.
• Translating complex technical considerations for technical and business stakeholders.
• Exploring the application of emerging technologies including AI/ML and Digital Twins.
