Pixel Toys in Leamington Spa is seeking a Graphics Programmer to shape the visuals of our multi-platform mobile titles. You will design, implement and optimise shader pipelines, work with C# or C++, and collaborate with artists and engineers to balance quality and performance.
The role emphasizes mobile performance, Vulkan/Metal, SRPs, and a pragmatic approach to cross-platform graphics, profiling on-device, and delivering polished visuals across devices.
Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent over a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!
As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.
We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!
Join Pixel Toys as a Graphics Programmer at Pixel Toys where you will play a central role in establishing graphics quality and performance across our multi-platform titles, with a strong focus on mobile hardware. Working in a flexible and collaborative environment, you will bring your technical ideas to enrich both the final visual experience and team dynamics.
Partnering closely with Technical Artists, Engineers, and Designers you will architect, prototype, and implement graphics systems that achieve an exceptional balance between visual polish and runtime efficiency.
Your day-to-day will involve writing and maintaining high-quality shaders and graphical features while carefully accounting for mobile hardware constraints such as memory usage, overdraw, and thermal throttling. You will take ownership of profiling and investigating performance bottlenecks across diverse devices, utilising mobile graphics APIs like Vulkan and Metal to resolve visual anomalies. From optimising render pipelines to managing post-processing, culling, LODing, and lightmapping, you will ensure the stability and efficiency of our graphics codebase across a wide spectrum of target hardware.
As a Graphics Programmer bring professional programming experience in C# or C++, backed by a practical understanding of coding standards, software architecture, and graphics pipelines.
