Brief Description
We’re looking for a talented and creative Graphic Designer to support our team on a contract basis. This designer will play a crucial role in translating scientific and academic research—particularly in Neuroscience and Behavioral Science—into compelling visual materials for both internal audiences and client-facing deliverables.
The ideal candidate is a skilled visual communicator with a strong design portfolio, deep knowledge of design principles, and the ability to synthesize complex information into engaging, accessible formats. A background or interest in science communication, education, or learning design is a plus.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with client-facing and creative teams to develop design concepts that align with brand guidelines and project objectives
- Translate academic research into visually engaging layouts and content for:
- Presentation decks (PowerPoint, Google Slides)
- Journal articles, white papers, and reports
- Digital learning tools and training materials
- Social media graphics and templates
- Custom icons, infographics, and illustrations
- Maintain consistency with brand identity and visual tone across all projects
- Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and iterate quickly to refine deliverables
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies to ensure fresh, relevant visuals
- Maintain a well-organized file management system and asset library

- Deliver projects on time, on brand, and to specification
- Contribute to a collaborative, feedback-friendly workflow
- Continuously improve skills and stay up to date with relevant trends and tools
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in graphic design (agency, in-house, or freelance)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Excellent understanding of layout, typography, and visual storytelling
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to distill and visualize complex or abstract concepts
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
Bonus Skills
- Experience with motion design and video editing in After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Familiarity with scientific, academic, or behavioral research fields
- Experience in designing digital learning or e-learning materials
Work Structure
- Contract-based, with potential for ongoing work
- Remote with flexible hours
- Must be available for occasional virtual meetings and responsive to project timelines
