Graphic Design Assistant

Pertemps are currently looking for a Graphic Design Assistant to join our client’s talented team for a 4 week period, on-site project at their well-equipped studio in Nantwich, Cheshire (just a five-minute walk from the town centre). You’ll be part of a friendly, collaborative production team, helping them deliver high-quality, accessible PDF documents that meet industry standards.

Main responsibilities for this Graphic Design Assistant role:

1. Creating accessible PDFs in line with current accessibility guidelines
2. Ensuring correct structure (tags, links, alt text, reading order, etc.) for screen reader compatibility
3. Typesetting content in Adobe InDesign and exporting tagged PDFs
4. Working closely with editors and proofreaders to meet client and internal accessibility standards
5. Following brand and style guidelines to maintain consistency and quality
6. Managing your workload to meet tight deadlines without compromising on detail
7. Supporting the wider team with additional tasks as needed

Skills required for this Graphic Design Assistant role:

1. Solid experience with Adobe InDesign and Acrobat Pro
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
3. A degree in Graphic Design (or related field) or equivalent hands-on experience
4. Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of layout and structure
5. The ability to stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines
6. A positive, collaborative attitude—team spirit is key!

Details of this Graphic Design Assistant role:

1. Free on-site parking
2. Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
3. Great experience in a busy, creative studio setting
4. £12.50ph-£13.00ph DOE
5. Temp position: 4 weeks
