Role: Grants Verification Officer - Temporary - Belfast Job Overview VANRATH are partnering with a returning client in their search for a Grants Verification Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, planning, and delivering a dynamic and independent audit service. Salary: £30,000 Belfast Up to 6 months, with potential for extension Key Responsibilities: Ensure expenditure is eligible, accurate, and in alignment with project budgets. Complete verification forms and reports, highlighting non-compliance or irregularities for management action. Verify that projects comply with grant applications, contract conditions, and funding agreements. Tailor verification work to the size and nature of projects, addressing any irregularities. Report financial irregularities to relevant authorities, with recommendations for improvement. Contribute to the review of funding schemes, policies, and procedures, managing changing priorities. Safeguard the storage of financial records and assist auditors in their work. Foster effective working relationships and provide guidance, contributing to the development of policies. Essential Criteria: A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above), including Maths and English. At least 2 years' experience in one of the following: Verification or audit of expenditure OR Financial accounting OR Payroll processing A minimum of 2 years' experience reviewing financial processes and/or controls. Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders to achieve a positive outcome. Proficiency in working with MS Office packages, particularly MS Excel.
