Job description

Position: Grants Officer

Location: Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG

Overview: Applications are invited for a Grants Officer to work with a team within the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. The successful applicant will hold a key role in the administrative structure of the department, working within the large and busy grants team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a portfolio of awards within research groups, covering both pre-award and post-award functions.
  2. Act as a key contact for academics and researchers, collaborating closely with research groups, Finance and HR teams, and central Research Services and Research Accounts teams.
  3. Provide support on costings for internal and external grant funding applications.
  4. Coordinate the setup of awards, including dealing with research contracts.
  5. Monitor budgets and spending on awarded projects.
  6. Provide financial advice to the Principal Investigator as required.
  7. Complete financial reporting.
  8. Manage post-award processes in accordance with sponsor and University requirements.

This is a busy and varied role, requiring the ability to manage a large number of projects concurrently. It would suit a self-directed individual with good organisational and planning skills who enjoys working proactively and as part of a team. You will be expected to deal confidently with a variety of stakeholders and build effective working relationships across the department and university.

You will be based in the Radcliffe Primary Care building, with a minimum requirement of two days in the office, while agreeing a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager. We have two permanent posts available.
