Job summary

Thoughtful (Society for Philosophical Enquiry) is seeking a fundraiser to cover a maternity leave. You will sustain our grant fundraising stream, develop proposals, and draft donor communications, helping us continue to fund schools and community projects across the UK.

The role offers flexible hours and remote working with regular updates to co-directors. You’ll research trusts, manage deadlines, and draft content for newsletters and major gifts, joining a small team committed to educational

Qualifications

• Proven experience researching grant makers and writing successful funding proposals
• Strong, persuasive writing skills adaptable for different audiences (grant makers, individual donors, larger gift supporters)
• Good organisational skills to track multiple deadlines and reporting requirements
• Confident working independently and proactively with co-directors
• Comfortable communicating remotely with regular check-ins

Responsibilities

• Support our small fundraising team from November to May, covering key grant fundraising activity
• Monitor prospects, research new trusts and foundations, and add them to the pipeline
• Help shape and draft funding proposals with co-directors to meet funder deadlines
• Draft content for our Individual Giving newsletter and grant-making communications
