Job description

Missions essentielles

As a Stores Operator in Mendlesham, you will ensure the quality of barley received and stored meets Boortmalt’s standards. You will also ensure that Bury St Edmunds is supplied with the correct quality and quantity of barley from Mendlesham.

This is a vital role, helping to keep the barley store productive and maintained, and supplying the maltings at Bury St Edmunds with barley of the required quality.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Barley intake testing and administration
  2. Weighbridge administration and control
  3. Barley quality control
  4. Barley processing
  5. Barley storage
  6. Laboratory support and administration
  7. Loader shovel driving
  8. Barley outloading

Master recherché

Certificates required: barley identification, pest identification, manual handling, food hygiene, loader shovel operation, confined space, and working at height.

Knowledge of barley storage and malting process requirements is essential.

Fluent English is required.

You should be a multi-skilled, enthusiastic, flexible individual, willing to learn new skills.

This role is fast-paced, requiring physical effort at times, attention to detail, and an understanding of the site’s goals.
