Are you interested in exploring a teaching career in a school but don't have the school experience?

Our Graduates into Teaching Pathway gives you several months of paid experience as a Teaching Assistant in schools. You will work with partner schools in Newcastle and the surrounding areas and receive training before starting your role and during your role. You can observe great teaching and discover what working as a Teacher is like whilst getting paid.

What can I expect from the role?

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant on our Graduates into Teaching Pathway you will be supporting pupils in groups and on a 1:1 basis. Posts vary from short term to long term in our partner Secondary schools, SEN schools and Primary schools.

You will be mentored and coached by the team to allow you to grow your skillset as your train. We will match you schools near you for your placement.

Required Qualifications:

  • You will hold a degree in any subject.
  • Hold/Predicted a degree with a 2.2 or above
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum 4 or C)

  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible and responsive in a dynamic work environment
  • Organised and efficient
  • Enjoy working with young people and want to work in a Secondary school

In addition, you must:

• Have a DBS form or be prepared to obtain one
