Job summary

The UK Atomic Energy Authority invites applications for its Graduate Development Programme. As a recent science or engineering graduate, you will join a structured scheme to develop technical, professional and leadership skills while contributing to fusion technology projects.

You’ll spend 20% of time on development activities and 80% on role-based engineering work, collaborating with design teams, suppliers and inspection specialists to meet quality and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering from 2025 to 2027.
• Driven, with a strong appetite to learn and take on new challenges.
• Able to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Well organised and adaptable with the ability to plan and prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of welding, joining and manufacturing solutions for fusion projects, working with design teams, suppliers and inspection specialists to help ensure technical, quality and regulatory requirements are met.
• Contribute to project execution and continuous improvement activities, including preparing technical documentation, specifications and reports, coordinating procurement and manufacturing activities, monitoring quality standards, and helping to resolve non-conformances.
• Build expertise in welding and joining technologies, gaining experience in qualification and inspection processes, participating in design reviews, external visits and outreach activities, and working in line with UKAEA quality, health, safety and inclusion principles.
