We are looking for a Graduate Water Resources Consultant for our Water team in Leeds, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.
As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your expertise within an exciting and creative interdisciplinary environment.
The Opportunity
Water resource requirements now and in the future will be significantly impacted by global trends in population growth, climate change, environmental requirements, energy production, and agricultural needs. These challenges have increased Stantec's involvement in UK and Ireland water resources planning, including contributions to Strategic Resource Option investigations, Water Resource Management Plans, Drought Plans, and Water Industry National Environment Programme investigations. Supporting our water company clients through the AMP8 regulatory cycle remains a key focus for Stantec in 2026.
To support this growing workload, Stantec is seeking a Graduate Water Resources Planner to join our Water Environment team. You will learn to provide technical advice and innovative solutions to water resource investigations, preparing reports and deliverables. You will collaborate effectively with water companies, regulators (e.g., Environment Agency, Ofwat, DWI, RAPID), design engineers, contractors, planners, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
You will develop in-depth knowledge of UK and global water resources and drought planning processes, gain experience in modeling water resource availability, and complete assessments such as water resource options, management plans, drought plans, WINEP investigations, catchment management, climate change impact assessments, and WFD assessments.
