Unlock your passions at Sheriff’s Highway Vets

Sheriff's Highway Veterinary Hospital was established in 1948 and has developed an enviable reputation for providing an excellent level of care. You will be based at our Gateshead practice but may be required to work at our other sites.

We have a large, supportive and compassionate team of 15 Vets, 20 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a great reception and administration team. Within our team, we have certificate holders in Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology and Diagnostic Imaging.

Practice facilities and equipment include direct digital radiography, dental radiography, high quality ultrasound machine with colour doppler, flexible and rigid endoscopes, in-house lab including haematology, biochemistry, and EPOC and a wide range of advanced surgical equipment.

Step into a supportive start

40 hours per week over 4 days a week, Monday to Friday with a set day off. You may also be required to participate in a weekend and OOH rota.

You will be supported by your assigned, dedicated mentor; however, all of our Vets in practice are happy to support graduates in person or on the phone when needed. You will have more time for consults in the first few months and there will be no sole charge until you are feeling confident.
