Unlock Your Passions at White Cross Vets, Kings Heath:

White Cross Vets, Kings Heath is a friendly and supportive practice that can provide excellent support for a new graduate vet. The practice is based in Kings Heath in Birmingham, a short distance from Birmingham city centre. Kings Heath and Moseley village (2 minutes away) are both full of independent restaurants and some very nice bars and pubs! There is a grocery shop next door to the practice and a very lovely sandwich shop and bakery just across the road. There are buses every 5–10 minutes that pass the practice, and the closest train station is around a 10‑minute drive away in Kings Norton. There will soon also be a direct train from Birmingham city centre to Kings Heath.

You will be working with an amazing, supportive team of five vets and certificate holders in internal medicine, imaging and surgery, with another vet currently in the process of obtaining a certificate in feline medicine. We have in‑house laboratory services, a large prep and theatre area, and diagnostics including X‑ray (standard and dental), endoscopy and ultrasound. We have a large waiting area, with separate areas for cats, dogs and rabbits, as well as a screened‑off area for anxious or reactive dogs. We hold an ISFM cat‑friendly silver award and a RWAF rabbit‑friendly silver award. There is a large staff rest room with kettle, coffee machine, toaster, fridge/freezer, and air fryer.

Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

You will work 40 hours per week, which will be split over four days per week.

In terms of support, you will be assigned a mentor – two vets have completed the vet GDP training, and other vets who have shown an interest in mentoring. At the start of the programme, we will facilitate longer appointments and more frequent breaks/catch‑up time. We will also ensure protected time for mentor meetings on a weekly‑bi‑weekly basis.
