Christ’s Hospital seeks to appoint a graduate or undergraduate to join its Sports Department. The successful candidate will coach rugby to a high level, support in other sports, and assist with department administration.

The role involves coaching rugby and supporting sports such as football, netball, athletics, hockey, and cricket, alongside administrative duties within a busy Sports Department.

Experience in Strength & Conditioning is advantageous. Candidates should be highly motivated and prepared to work in a co-educational boarding school dedicated to providing a first-class education to children from diverse backgrounds.

This is a temporary position for one academic year starting at the end of August 2025, with potential extension through a competitive process. Successful Graduate Assistants have previously progressed to further teaching roles, including PGCE training.

The department comprises 7 staff members, nearly 30 external coaches, Graduate Sports Assistants, and full-time academic staff. The Director of Sport oversees the Activity for Life programme, promoting physical activities that foster healthy lifestyles. The Head of Sport Science manages the PE programme.

Sport is integral to the Activity for Life programme, with facilities including grass pitches, floodlit all-weather pitches, netball and tennis courts, cricket squares, a swimming pool, sports hall, gymnasium, squash courts, fives courts, and a fitness suite. Future developments include padel courts, a new athletics track, and an activity trail.
