Application Deadline: Recruitment is ongoing. Please apply as soon as possible, as the advert may close once we have sufficient applicants.

Your role:

We are looking for a Graduate Transport Planner for our Infrastructure team to be based in Birmingham, Northampton, or Cambridge, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.

As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your team and wider cohort, developing your transport planning expertise within an exciting and creative interdisciplinary environment. You will be able to develop your career as a transport planner in a busy office environment and be part of an office with other graduates across a range of disciplines, including planning, structural engineering, and project management.

This is a great opportunity to join our Transport team and be part of our ambitious plans for growth, delivering projects at varying scales for a wide variety of clients, primarily in the East of England, but also further afield across the UK.

We work with an excellent range of clients, and our approach to delivery has earned us a reputation as one of the leading development consultancies in the local market.

People are at the heart of everything we do; the clients we work with, the communities we create, and the people who work with us. We invest in staff development through various initiatives, including apprentice programmes, STEM initiatives, and leadership development. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from concept to commissioning and beyond, including major new settlements, expansion of enterprise zones, and community-based projects.

On a day-to-day basis, you will support our team in delivering all aspects of our projects, helping to develop and influence transport strategies, and assisting with the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.

You will join a supportive and successful team with exciting career opportunities, gain great client exposure, and benefit from professional development in an innovative and collaborative environment.

About you:

  • An Adapter - Able to remain calm in new and changing situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic tasks.
  • A Perseverer - Staying composed in setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
  • A Collaborator - Working effectively with diverse people, considering others’ perspectives for better outcomes.
  • A Problem-Solver - Sharing your thoughts based on observations, unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

Please note: We ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week to ensure sufficient support and team engagement.

What we can offer you:
  • A competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection, and life assurance
  • Permanent employment contract, demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec
  • Professional progression plan to support your chartership
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment, Early Careers peer group, and wider ERG network (Stantec Employee Resource Groups)

Applicants must have an unconditional right to live and work in the UK for an indefinite period without limitation.

Please review our Graduate FAQs if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your application!
