We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Transport & Development Planner to join our Highways and Transportation Division. Through our rotational graduate programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple teams, contributing to high-profile projects that directly influence the lives of Kent’s communities and businesses.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Help to shape developments, plans, and strategies to deliver new highways and transport infrastructure and services across Kent
  2. Undertake projects to review and improve policies and processes in transport and development planning in collaboration with stakeholders
  3. Assess planning applications for new developments and provide recommendations to local planning authorities
  4. Rotate across key service areas, gaining a view of how transport planning supports the Council’s strategic goals
  5. Represent the Highway Authority, building your confidence and communication skills in a professional setting
  6. Develop your expertise through structured project work, while working toward the Associate Project Manager apprenticeship
