Job summary

European Space Agency’s National Graduate Trainee in Advanced Materials and Process Engineering is a program for recent Master’s graduates. The position is based at ECSAT in Harwell, UK, working with ESTEC on materials, processes and additive manufacturing for space hardware.

The trainee will contribute to the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory, assist with material qualification and testing, and collaborate across European space programmes in a multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• Completed or in final year of Master’s in materials science covering metallic, polymeric and/or composite materials.
• Knowledge of ESA and its programmes/projects.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to work in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory activities at ECSAT.
• Assist in materials qualification and development for space hardware.
• Collaborate with ESTEC Materials and Electrical Components Laboratory and other teams in Europe.
