- Start Base Salary: £24,541 (dependant on experience/role/seniority)
- Realistic OTE: £35,541, Year 1, £45,541 ,129 Year 2, £55,541 Year 3

We are a bespoke specialist financial services business with offices in the City of London and recently opened our offices in central Newcastle. We are looking to expand our Team and are seeking a Graduate Trainee Financial Adviser ( Mortgages and Life Cover) to work alongside the Newcastle based Company directors.
This is a unique position as we are looking for exceptional graduate trainees with no track record in banking, finance or the mortgage industry. Full training will be given in the role including the financial services process, sales, case paraplanning and all aspects of regulatory compliance.
This is an ideal role for someone looking to work locally in Newcastle, but to be part of a City of London financial services Team. It is a perfect entry role for somebody looking to start their career in Sales and /or Finance or for those maybe looking for a change of direction and a new challenge. We are able to consider an element of flexible working from home following the training period.
Skills
- Ability to connect with our customers on a human, personal and connected level, dropping all preconceptions on trying to sell to them, focusing on providing service to them
- Appreciation and drive to implement a first -class quality and customer experience to paying customers, lending partners, other team members and our suppliers
- Ability to assess customer's needs and requirements and to offer appropriate financial solutions to meet their needs
- Ability to assess internal client financial documentation such as passports, payslips and bank statements, to ensure they are 100% accurate, compliant and that all recommendations fully meet the client's stated needs and objectives
- Ability to assess both lending risk and broker risk and to mitigate any issues, through clear understanding of the type and volume of supporting documents required, to ensure a fully informed lending decision
- Ability to pro-actively form judgements regarding risk and implement detailed processes to effectively and efficiently safeguard our lenders, client data, and the brokerage whilst meeting business aims
- Ability to work in partnership with customers to obtain a fully requested list of documentation within tight and specific timescales
- Ability to collate, process and accurately assess documentation in support of a client's protection/mortgage application
- Complete awareness of risk factors
- Ability to assess client affordability based on income and to forensically assess bank statements to calculate outgoings and to highlight any irregular payments
- Ability to key online protection and mortgage applications accurately and without error, using fact find and oral/written communication from customers
- To efficiently and pro-actively para-plan cases from mortgage application to mortgage offer and then to completion building strong relationships with clients and lenders during the process.
- Ability to use and record notes effectively onto a central Client Management System
- To data process information across a range of computerised systems accurately and without error
- Ability to effectively manage individual and team workloads and prioritisation of cases
- Ability to use and be guided by specific key performance indicators as they relate to service level times, errors and customer service feedback
- The ability to self-motivate and operate within a Team towards reaching targets and attainment of the Company's overall business goals
- Ability to collate statistics and produce reports in a clear coherent format
- Technical knowledge and trouble-shooting on basic IT issues, escalating issues where necessary to our external IT support
- General admin duties for office management (petty cash, shredding process, filing)
