Job description

Location: United Kingdom - England - Yorkshire and the Humber - South Yorkshire - Sheffield

Type: Permanent

To support our growth, we are looking to expand our team of trainee accountants by recruiting ambitious, business-minded graduates into our successful graduate scheme to join in 2024.

About The Role

This is a brilliant opportunity to qualify as a professional accountant, learn to be a consultant and work with some of the most exciting new companies in multiple industry sectors based in our Sheffield office (we also have an office in Egham, Surrey and open to the successful candidate working from there). Our clients are researching cures for cancer, working at the forefront of tech in medicine, developing AI capability and even designing next generation jets.

Working with a team of professionals at various levels in the industry, you will learn the full range of core finance skills from the start of your career. You will have exposure to and be responsible for client work from the very start, quickly building your own portfolio of clients and areas of technical expertise. We will supplement your accounting experience with project work to expand your skills, and you will progress to more complex finance work as your knowledge and ability to add value to your clients deepen.

Why Join Us?

Your ability to progress at Isosceles is not dependent on more senior colleagues leaving a role, it's dependent on you. All our graduates have the opportunity to become a Finance Director of the future, providing strategic and high value finance advice to the owners and other key players in multiple businesses simultaneously. Our Career Development Pathway will keep you on track through the academic and practical experience you will need to get there. Visit our website to find out more about being part of an ambitious and dynamic company.

Study Support

Isosceles Finance will fully support and fund your professional studies to qualify as a CIMA accountant at our Egham office. The average time it takes to complete the professional qualification is 3-4 years, including a minimum of 3 years of relevant practical experience.

About You

As we work with entrepreneurs and their teams, you’ll need to match their ambition, energy, drive and focus. To quickly establish yourself as an integral part of both Isosceles and our clients, you will thrive working in a collaborative and friendly environment. As an aspiring finance professional, you will have strong organization, numeracy, and communication skills, with a natural focus on accuracy and detail.

What You Need
  • 2:1 degree or higher. Any discipline will be considered.
  • 3 A Levels (or equivalent), with at least two at grades A*-B.
  • Strong GCSE grades, including Maths and English.
  • Good IT skills and a confident user of Microsoft Office, including exposure to Excel.
  • Driving licence - Desirable
Exemptions

Our graduate programme is a wonderful opportunity to learn and develop your accounting skills through a combination of on-the-job practical experience and training whilst studying towards a professional qualification. We have a clear progression route from graduate to CFO in the form of our Career Development Plan under which we encourage and support all graduates on the programme to take control of their careers.

Experience has shown us a key component in the success of graduates as they develop into senior finance leaders is a solid foundation of knowledge in the fundamentals of accounting and finance. Without that foundation, the ability to identify and solve complex financial problems becomes a challenge and often an obstacle to development. As a result, we have refined our exemptions policy in order to maximise the chances for all graduates to reach their full potential in their career with us.

For CIMA, we will accept exemptions from the Certificate level (BA1-4). We firmly believe that the benefit to graduates of studying each of the subsequent levels, alongside the practical work experience gained, will produce the firmest of foundations to build a successful career in accounting and finance.
