Job summary

Arup, a global advisory and design firm, invites graduates to join its Town Planning team based in Birmingham or Nottingham. You will support planning applications, policy development and evidence-based studies while applying GIS, data analysis and AI-assisted techniques to inform infrastructure and regeneration projects.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography & Geospatial Science or Urban Design.
• RTPI-accredited degrees preferred; support through RTPI Assessment of Professional Competence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare planning applications, policy documents, spatial strategies and evidence-based studies for clients.
• Conduct research, data analysis and report writing using GIS, dashboards and AI-assisted tools.
• Contribute to environmental and socio-economic impact assessments supporting planning and consent.
• Assist with stakeholder and community engagement activities, including workshops and meetings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, inclusive places.
• Leverage digital tools to speed up analysis and improve evidence communication.
