Job summary

University of Greater Manchester invites recent graduates to join our two-year Graduate Trainee Scheme in Timetabling and Regulatory Support. This fixed-term programme offers hands-on experience in a busy data department with full training from the Student Data Management team.

You will support departmental objectives, help create student timetables, assist data analysis and reporting, and contribute ideas to improve processes and services, while developing transferable professional skills.

Qualifications

  • Two-year fixed-term Graduate Trainee scheme with training and support.
  • Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office and digital tools.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to learn and develop in a professional services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of departmental objectives and key projects.
  • Assist in creating student timetables for the university.
  • Contribute to data analysis and statutory reporting.
  • Share ideas to improve processes and services.
  • Manage workload to meet deadlines and priorities.
  • Communicate with staff and students across the university.
  • Support Open Days, Clearing, Graduation and events while ensuring policy compliance.

About the Scheme

This two-year fixed-term programme provides you with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a busy data department.

You will:

  • Receive full training and ongoing support from the Student Data Management data team

  • Develop a broad set of transferable professional skills

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Graduate Trainee, you will be trusted with genuine responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to the University’s operations. Your role will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of departmental objectives and key projects
  • Supporting the creation of student timetabling for the university
  • Assisting in data analysis and statutory reporting
  • Contributing ideas and innovative solutions to improve processes and services
  • Managing your workload effectively to meet deadlines and priorities
  • Communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff and students
  • Supporting key University activities such as Open Days, Clearing, Graduation, and events
  • Ensuring compliance with University policies, procedures, and relevant legislation

About you

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic graduate who is keen to learn, develop, and make a positive contribution.

You will:

  • Be a recent graduate of the University of Greater Manchester (minimum 2:2) from 2024/2025 or 2025/2026.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Be confident using Microsoft Office and digital tools
  • Show the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges
  • Have an interest in developing a career within a professional services environment
