Job Description

The Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) represents a broad array of European and global participants in the wholesale financial markets. Its members include pan-EU and global banks, regional banks, brokers, law firms, investors, and other financial market participants. AFME advocates for stable, competitive, sustainable European financial markets that support economic growth and benefit society.

AFME is the European member of the Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA), which includes the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) in the US and the Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA) in Asia.

AFME seeks to appoint a Graduate to support the Technology and Operations Division, focusing on Digital Assets (e.g., DLT, Crypto), Operational Resilience, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Data, Artificial Intelligence. The division aims to foster innovation and operational efficiency in capital markets by developing regulatory positions, supporting innovation-based market infrastructures, and providing a platform for members to discuss new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support drafting and submission of regulatory and consultation responses
• Assist in developing advocacy materials on key member issues
• Assist with administration and governance of Committees and Working Groups, including preparing agendas and materials
• Support meetings and workshops (attending, taking minutes, tracking actions)
• Monitor developments in technology and operations at European, international, and member state levels, and circulate updates
• Collect data for research projects

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• Master’s degree or higher
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills
• Ability to review details and provide analysis
• Enthusiastic, curious, quick learner
• Effective communicator with clear points of view
• Interest in technology and compliance
• Knowledge of Cloud, AI/Machine Learning, DLT
• Understanding of financial market infrastructures
