Job description

Graduate Technologist required, based in Cheshire for a 6-month contract. Degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science required, with proven industrial experience within a chemical laboratory is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Term: 6-month contract

SRG are currently working with a global business who have developed an innovative chemical process with applications across coatings, construction materials and the automotive industry, as well other sectors. They are now looking for a Chemistry graduate to join their busy technical team, based at their site in Cheshire on a 6-month contract. This role will primarily involve carrying out laboratory-based reactions, completing experimental reports, supporting in the QC (Quality Control) and performing QA (Quality Assurance) of samples. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science, with proven industrial experience within the chemicals sector desirable, but not essential.

Role / Description

  • Carry out laboratory-based reactions whilst following SOPs
  • Plan and execute small scale reactions, before carrying out work-up activities
  • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) testing for samples
  • Undertake purification reactions for testing samples
  • Complete and analyse experimental reports and data
  • Support with QC (Quality Control) of samples when required

Requirements

  • Minimum BSc degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Proven industrial experience in a chemical laboratory is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided
  • Proactive and committed approach, with good communication and team-working skills
