Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistants to join a range of excellent secondary schools across North London. This role offers hands-on classroom experience, exposure to student support, and a pathway toward teacher training for ambitious graduates.

You will work closely with teachers to raise attainment, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help create a positive learning environment for pupils of varying needs.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree (any subject)
• Interest in education and working with young people
• Be considering a future career in teaching/educational psychology/youth work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be proactive, adaptable, enthusiastic
• Committed to helping students reach their full potential
• Experience with young people desirable

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Provide 1:1 support for students needing additional academic or pastoral assistance.
• Build positive relationships with students to help them overcome barriers to learning.
• Deliver small-group intervention sessions to improve student progress.
• Support pupils with SEN, behavioural, emotional, or academic needs.
• Assist with classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, including after-school clubs and enrichment programmes.
• Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
