Graduate Teaching Assistant - Literacy Support

Outstanding Secondary School - Tower Hamlets, East London

Start Date: June 2025

Full-Time Term-Time Only

Salary: 90 - 110 per day (depending on experience)

An outstanding secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London, is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to provide targeted Literacy support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring English teacher looking to gain invaluable, hands-on experience in a thriving school community.

The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with varying levels of literacy

Assist in planning and delivering engaging literacy interventions

Support classroom teachers within English lessons and across the curriculum

Help students develop confidence in reading, writing, and comprehension

Monitor progress and contribute to student assessments

Ideal Candidate:

Holds a degree in English or a related field

Has paid or voluntary experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, youth work, summer schools)

Is passionate about education and making a difference

Has excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
