Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary Ideal for Aspiring Teachers September Start

Are you a recent graduate with aspirations to become a primary school teacher? Are you looking for a rewarding, full-time role where you can gain valuable classroom experience before embarking on your teacher training journey?

A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Newham is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, and is perfect for someone passionate about education and eager to make a difference.

About the Role:

Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Intervention Support)

Start Date: September

Location: Newham, East London

Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday)

Contract: Term-time only (until July 2026, with potential to extend or train)

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with literacy and numeracy interventions

Working 1:1 or with small groups of children who need additional support

Assisting class teachers with planning and delivering engaging lessons

Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

A graduate with a strong academic background (2:2 or above)

Previous paid or voluntary experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, classroom support)

Passionate about pursuing a career in teaching or education

Confident, patient, and able to build positive relationships with children and staff
