Job summary

Horizon Teachers is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a North London secondary school, starting in September on a full-time basis. You will support students in the classroom, provide 1:1 and small-group help, and assist teachers with activities to boost engagement and progress.

The ideal candidate has a degree in any subject and a genuine interest in education, with strong communication skills and a proactive, patient approach.

Qualifications

• Degree in any subject; subjects such as English, Maths, Science, Psychology or Humanities are welcome
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, proactive and supportive approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with students
• Interest in education and working with young people

Responsibilities

• Support students in the classroom and during learning activities
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and student engagement
• Support students with their academic progress and confidence
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND
