Graduate Teaching Assistant Whitstable
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a desire to gain hands-on classroom experience before pursuing teacher training? Do you want to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive primary school in Whitstable?

Academics in Canterbury are working closely with a vibrant primary school in Whitstable who are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant. This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate looking to start their journey into teaching and gain valuable experience supporting pupils across the primary age range.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 with their learning and development
  • Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver targeted support, including small group work and 1:1 interventions
  • Assist with classroom preparation and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Provide additional support to children with SEND or those requiring extra help to reach their full potential
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
  • Help monitor pupil progress and contribute to ongoing assessment

What we are looking for:

  • A recent graduate with a Degree/Masters ideally in Education or a related subject
  • A passion for working with children and an interest in a career in teaching
  • Any experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, summer camps, youth work) is desirable
  • A flexible, proactive and approachable attitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Right to work in the UK
