Job summary

REESON Education is seeking graduates to join its Graduate Teaching Assistant pool in Portsmouth for inclusive classroom work across primary SEND teams. You will reinforce teacher-led SEND support while broadening your understanding of diverse learning needs.

This is a registration for current or future opportunities, not a guaranteed placement. Role involves adapting explanations, supporting pupils 1:1 where needed, and upholding safeguarding and EHCP strategies.

Qualifications

• Recent degree in Psychology, Education Studies, Early Childhood Studies or related SEND discipline.
• Transferable experience from tutoring, mentoring, youth work, coaching or care is beneficial.
• School-based experience is not mandatory but helpful.

Responsibilities

• Adapt explanations and resources under classroom staff guidance.
• Support pupils with speech, language needs, ADHD or autism in 1:1 sessions.
• Encourage social interaction and independent task completion.
• Reinforce EHCP and behaviour support strategies consistently.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will reinforce teacher-led SEND support while building your understanding of different learning and communication needs. This is registration for suitable current or future opportunities, rather than a guarantee of a confirmed placement.

Role Details

• Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
• Pay: £80-£100 per day
• Start: ASAP, subject to registration and safeguarding checks
• Setting: Primary school SEND teams
• Contract: Flexible daily and short-term supply

Learning Support for Graduates

• A Graduate Teaching Assistant will adapt explanations and resources under the direction of classroom staff
• The Graduate Teaching Assistant may support pupils with speech and language needs, ADHD or autism in 1:1 sessions
