Prospero Teaching is currently on the lookout for graduates with a keen interest in education to join a secondary school in North London. Specifically, we’re seeking individuals who have excelled in both GCSE and A-level, and who hold a degree in a Business Studies-related field. Are you interested in working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school where there may be opportunities to train to teach in the future?

As a teaching assistant, you will be working in a secondary school environment with 11–16-year-olds who require continuity, positive role models, patience, and understanding.

WHAT DOES THE GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT ROLE INVOLVE:

  • Supporting the class teacher and students during lessons
  • Building rapport with 5–6 students with specific needs and implementing strategies to nurture, engage, and raise attainment in their secondary years
  • 1:1 tuition sessions supporting your subject specialism
  • Running intervention groups in your subject area to build their knowledge of the subject

WHAT SUPPORT WILL I BE GIVEN AS A GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT?

  • You’ll be given training, guidance, and support by an experienced consultant at Prospero and our Training and Development Team (all experienced teachers), as well as from the school itself.
  • A programme of FREE Training and CPD sessions are also offered.

School support:

  • You will be provided with resources and strategies to support learners, behaviour management training, and group and 1:1 training from qualified, experienced passionate staff.

GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT:

  • Full-time school hours, 8 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • You will be required to run an after-school club once a week and attend a departmental meeting once a week.
  • The role is paid weekly at a daily rate of £90 to £105 and can become a permanent position in the future.
