Job description

Step Into Teaching are seeking graduates for a secondary school in Coventry offering full time roles starting in September 2025.

The school is committed to fostering a caring and supportive atmosphere where students not only enjoy their time but are also challenged to meet high expectations. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with staff to support students’ learning and contribute to the development of a positive and engaging learning environment.

The Opportunity:

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant
  • September 2025 start
  • Graduates with a 2:2 or above Hons degree required*
  • Aspiring educational psychologists/ SEN Teachers
  • 1:1 & Small Group work
  • Coventry, West Midlands
  • Full-time roles – Monday - Friday
  • £480 - £530 per week

The successful graduate must:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • A genuine interest in education and helping students achieve their potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting (desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and strategies to support students with additional learning needs (desirable but not essential).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those who require additional assistance.
  • Help create and prepare teaching resources and materials.
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior and maintaining a safe and positive environment.
  • Provide feedback on students’ progress and help identify areas for improvement.
  • Support students with special educational needs, if required.
  • Participate in school events and extracurricular activities as needed.
  • Help with administrative tasks, including tracking student attendance and progress.
