Teaching Assistant

A teaching assistant is needed for an independent school in North London for neurodivergent children aged 11-14.

As a teaching assistant, you will be supporting students with MLD and moderate ASD who are working very closely to the national curriculum.

This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.

Being a teaching assistant at this school, you will become a part of a highly supportive team with exceptional senior leadership and fantastic resources.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  1. Providing academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group.
  2. Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed.
  3. Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  4. Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
  5. Assisting with lesson planning and delivery.
  6. Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  1. The right to work in the UK.
  2. A clear and up-to-date DBS.
  3. Experience working as a teaching assistant.
  4. A patient and calm attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
