Location: Newcastle
Salary: £84 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-Term

GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and committed Graduate Teaching Assistants to work within a range of vibrant primary schools across Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates considering a career in teaching who wish to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive, school-based environment.

As a Graduate TA (Primary), you will be working closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils in EYFS, KS1, or KS2. This role offers varied experience, from general classroom support to working one-to-one or with small intervention groups. The role is ideal for graduate’s keen to explore the teaching profession or those preparing to undertake teacher training in the future.

Key Responsibilities of the Graduate TA (Primary):

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Support individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the assessment of pupil progress through observation and feedback.
  • Support the preparation of teaching materials and classroom displays.
  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold school values.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children (in any capacity) is highly desirable.
  • A degree (minimum 2:2) in any subject is essential – education-related degrees are desirable.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education or working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting learning.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
