Job description

GSL Education is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Post 16) to support secondary schools in South Shields.

Job Summary:
  • Providing guidance and support to students, assisting with their academic and personal development.
  • Tracking and reporting on student progress, identifying those who may need additional support or intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons to Post 16 students.
  • Provide support to students individually or in small groups.
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Support students’ academic progress and well-being.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for education and helping young people succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
