This role involves developing low carbon solutions and conducting climate risk assessments as part of their Graduate Programme. Your role:
We are looking for aGraduate Sustainability & Carbon Management Consultant to be based inNewcastle, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.
Stantec UK has amarket-leading Environmental Services (ES) group, supporting clients across their environmental, geotechnical and water disciplines. Within our ES group, we are seeking GraduateNet Zero, Climate Change andSustainability consultants to join our team, who are passionate about climate change, the Net Zero challenge, social value and wider sustainability.You will learn to provide practical solutions to our clients that integrate different disciplines and perspectives, in ways that bring real and lasting benefits to communities and the environment.
You will be involved in;
Sustainability appraisal, natural capital and social value assessments.
Conducting climate change risk assessments and developing adaptation plans and strategies.
Developing digital approaches to embed sustainability into our wider engineering and environmental services.
Helping develop and assess sustainability targets andmaintaining project records.
Clearly communicating sustainability requirements to internal and external teams.
Providing support on wider sustainability and resource efficiency projects.
Attending site visits and client meetings.
Assisting with preparing bids and proposals for new work.
We will help you to engage with the latest climate change/sustainability legislation, policy and guidance as well as to develop your capabilities in Sustainability and Carbon Consulting.
As a member of our team, you'll work closely with experienced team members to develop your skills and knowledge. We'll provide you with opportunities to learn and grow, while you help us deliver successful projects for our clients.
You should be able to organise and manage your own activities, dealing effectively with multiple priorities with a structured approach, and able to switch between a variety of dynamic and exciting tasks.You’ll be motivated and proactive in your work, exhibiting ownership of your workload, and having the desire to make a real difference.
