Job summary

EGGER in Auchinleck, UK, is looking for a Graduate Mechanical Support Engineer to start their engineering career in a world-leading manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience across maintenance, reliability, projects and continuous improvement.

From day one you will work with experienced engineers, support maintenance activities, develop equipment strategies, and contribute to KPI monitoring, data analysis and reporting while upholding high health, safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or due to graduate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings; CAD experience would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance or maintenance management systems would be advantageous.
• German language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Mechanical Engineer and Engineering Manager with maintenance and engineering projects.
• Assist with equipment failure investigations, root cause analysis and reliability improvement activities.
• Maintain engineering drawings, technical documentation and equipment records.
• Support the use and development of SAP Plant Maintenance and other maintenance systems.
• Contribute to maintenance planning, preventive maintenance programmes and equipment strategies.
• Assist with engineering reporting, data analysis and KPI monitoring.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance and external contractors.
• Support the installation, commissioning and handover of new equipment and plant modifications.
• Promote high standards of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental performance.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced engineers and maintenance professionals to support plant reliability, maintenance improvement and engineering projects.

From day one, you'll be involved in real engineering challenges, helping to optimise equipment performance, support maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
