Excellent opportunity for a Graduate Engineer who is nearing the end of their Degree Studies and seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer role in Amersham. If you are nearing the end of your Degree and have a very clear passion for pursuing your career as a Graduate Structural Engineer then this role will enable you to undertake a highly supported and structured Graduate Engineering opportunity within within a multi-disciplined Engineering Consultancy. Please note: This role is ideal for a local Graduate Structural Engineer who can commute to Amersham on a daily basis for work.

Your role as a Graduate Structural Engineer will generally comprise of the production of structural calculations and technical drawings in accordance with British Standard design codes, Eurocodes, Building Regulations and Network Rail standards either by hand or by using the appropriate design software for clients, external professionals and regulatory authorities.

About You

My Client is seeking a Graduate Engineer with a strong degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or other appropriate built environment discipline) and with a clear passion and focus for developing their career as a Structural Engineer particularly with buildings and the built environment.

Technical Skills

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Ability to design basic structural members in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber is desirable.
• Ability to understand soil mechanics and have a familiarity with the Site Investigation process, with particular reference to foundation design.
• Familiarity with proprietary design software.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Basic use of Microsoft Office and other administration software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage own workload within agreed time scales.
• Act professionally in the interests of the Business
• Throughout your career you will be encouraged to work towards a Professional Qualification commensurate with your Academic Qualifications.
• You will be expected to attend in-house and external training courses, seminars, institution events, and generally comply with the Continuing Professional Development requirements of the business and the professional body to which you are affiliated.
